On the eve of Father’s Day Theatrum <\/span>presents a premiere of the world-known \u201cThe Father\u201d<\/span>, by<\/span> Florian Zeller.<\/span> Casting <\/span>Lembit Peterson as the father, the estonian play has been directed by Maria Peterson. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Father\u201d makes us see things as if through the confused eyes of Andre, as he struggles to make sense of a progressively befuddling world.<\/span> \u00a0The author himself says: “It is a puzzle and there is always one piece missing but nobody knows which one\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Zeller wrote his first novel \u201c<\/span>Artificial Snow<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/i> when he was twenty-two years old. But it was his third novel, “<\/span>Fascination of Evil”\u00a0<\/span>which made him a name in France. The book won Prix Interalli\u00e9 in 2004. Zeller is also fast becoming one of France’s most well-known contemporary playwrights.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Father” won the 2014 <\/span>Moli\u00e8re Awar<\/span>d, known as the highest theatrical honour for Best Play. <\/span>According to <\/span>L’Express<\/span>, \u201cFlorian Zeller is the most famous playwright in France together with Yasmina Reza\u201d. And <\/span>The Guardian<\/span> says that he is \u201c<\/span>“the most exciting new theatre writer of our time”<\/span>\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
