French city of Nanterre (Paris area) collaborated with activists to build an **<strong>Open Source Plat<\/strong><strong>form<\/strong> dedicated to citizen participation. Also,\u00a0the <em>Open Tartu project<\/em> is creating a prototype for the follow-up of the City of Tartu&#8217;s decision-making process.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"_4n-j fsl\"><span class=\"text_exposed_show\"><strong>National scale: open data to monitor democracy<\/strong>. French association <em>Regards Citoyens<\/em> is tracking Parliament activity through data in order to foster\u00a0transparency and accountability.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"_4n-j fsl\"><span class=\"_4n-j fsl\"><span class=\"text_exposed_show\"><strong>International scale: the Open Government Partnership<\/strong>. Ahead of Paris Global Summit, next\u00a0December, French government is working\u00a0with the civil society on building a \u201ctoolbox\u201d that could be useful to ***<strong>civic tech scenes<\/strong>\u00a0around the world. Besides,\u00a0<em>Open Knowledge Estonia<\/em> will present how the <em>Open Knowledge Foundation<\/em> is making a move towards\u00a0the Open Society.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On this occasion, the French institute will be inviting <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@ValentinChaput\/how-civic-technology-citizen-initiatives-reshape-democracy-in-france-f6fdc3929028#.kcfygdh13\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Valentin Chaput<\/strong><\/a>, a Paris-based activist, entrepreneur and teacher on civic tech, to share his experience. Estonian perspectives will be introduced by members of freshly born <em>Open Knowledge Estonia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This meetup will be a great\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to exchange open source code, discuss the collaboration process between activists and governments in both countries, and dig up into possible new paths to improvement.<\/p>\n<p>It will take place<strong> at Tallinn University<\/strong>, <strong>29<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>November, at 19:00.<br \/>\nFree and open to everyone<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>It is organised in connection with the upcoming World Summit on\u00a0Digital Democracy, that will be held in Paris this December.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #008ac9;\"><strong>Paris, capital of digital democracy<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nParis will indeed host the <strong>4th Open Government Partnership Global Summit<\/strong>: governments, researchers, activists, civil servants and entrepreneurs are invited to meet up and cooperate for the sake of improving digital democracy.
