A Waking Dreamer\u00bb at the Kumu Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Exhibition\u00a0\u00abPaul Delvaux. A Waking Dreamer\u00bb will take place between\u00a0<strong>25. November 2016 and 12. March 2017<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0<strong> the Art Museum of Estonia KUMU<\/strong>, A. Weisenbergi tn 34\u00a0in Tallinn<\/p>\n<p>The works of the Belgian surrealist Paul Delvaux, with their dreamy atmosphere, which significantly impacted 20<sup>th<\/sup>-century art, combine the real and the illusory, and play with combinations and citations of deeply personal motifs in art history. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Ixelles (Belgium) and, on Thursday, 24 November at 5 pm, Claire Leblanc, the curator of the exhibition and a conservator at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Ixelles, will provide an introduction to the exhibition.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-16019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ife.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/paul-delvaux-2-1-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"paul-delvaux-2\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.ife.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/paul-delvaux-2-1-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev.ife.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/paul-delvaux-2-1-600x481.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dev.ife.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/paul-delvaux-2-1.jpg 745w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tour will be conducted in English.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Delvaux&#8217;s paintings<\/strong> of the late 1920s and early 1930s, which feature nudes in landscapes, are strongly influenced by Flemish Expressionists. A change of style around 1933 reflects the influence of the metaphysical art of Giorgio de Chirico.\u00a0The paintings Delvaux became famous for usually feature numbers of nude women who stare as if hypnotized, gesturing mysteriously, sometimes reclining incongruously in a train station or wandering through classical buildings.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>You can visit the exhibition from\u00a011:00 to 18:00. \u00a0The Museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The tickets are available ath the ticket office at\u00a06\u20ac (adults), 4\u20ac (concessions) et 12\u20ac (family ticket)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Exhibition\u00a0\u00abPaul Delvaux.
