Nicolas Boone<\/strong>\u00a0 (https:\/\/nicolasboone.net\/)<\/a> has a \u00a0predilection for neglected urban environments that are often loaded with stereotypes which he seeks to undermine.<\/strong> This time he is going to focus on Tallinn, or should I say he is going to MAKE students focus on Tallinn.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the Estonian Academy of Arts<\/strong> is setting up a course for 14 lucky students from the KUNO schools and 6 students from Estonian Academy of Arts, with prestigious teachers, including Nicolas Boone, film-maker Dirk Hoyer, film historian Eva N\u00e4ripea, visual artist Liina Siib and artist Laura Kuusk.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s taking place\u00a0from 5 until 16 February<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course will\u00a0<\/strong>approach the territory of Tallinn with critical application of \u2018the noir\u2019<\/strong> in order to explore the matter and subjects of contemporary society. \u2018Tallinn Noir\u2019 will be developed through the link to the reality, tactics of situations and everyday practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course will deal with the aspects of storytelling, characterisation, locale and settings, using the existing \u2018street environment\u2019 in dialogue with samples of contemporary visual culture. The method of the course is a hybrid hands-on approach to theory and practice: quick and intense field work; group work; seminars and lectures…<\/span><\/p>\n
