The French Institute opened in Estonia in May of 1992.<\/p>\n

A quarter of a century spent introducing an ever-growing public to the French language, and thanks to successful cooperations with our Estonian partners, to the contemporary French culture in all its diversity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In\u00a025 years, the French Institute has taught over 15,000 people in its language center<\/a>. It also organized or co-organized an average of fifty events<\/a> a year: cinema, theatre, concerts, debates, contemporary dance, exhibitions, gastronomy, trainings, lectures, literature, youth literature…<\/p>\n

Academic cooperation as well as research cooperation are also one of the priorities of the French Institute: our actions aim at developing high level partnerships, especially through the Hubert Currien Parrot<\/a> programme or thanks to the HLSS<\/a> scholarships, in addition to advising, guiding and supporting (thanks to scholarships<\/a>) young Estonians who wish to study in France.<\/p>\n

An eventful year ahead for our 25th birthday<\/h3>\n

After an already busy start of the year, with the Month of Francophonie<\/a> in March, we are following through on our planning with more\u00a0events in April, May and June to mark the\u00a0foundation of the Institute: find out more about the events\u00a0HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are planning other highlights during the 2nd semestre, particularly the focus on French culture<\/a> that the Vaba Lava<\/a> centre will be launching in September 2017. An opportunity to celebrate both the 25th years of the French Institute and Estonia100!<\/p>\n
