His passions have always been the same: jazz music and guitar ! Indeed, he plays many different types of guitar: electric, acoustic with 6 to 12 strings, fretless…

In his early beginnings, Ducret was mainly playing in little orchestras in France. Nevertheless, he quickly started to play on international stages. Between 1983 and 1989, he constitutes his own bands and plays with musicians from all over the world like D.Friedman, L.Schneider, H.Texier, J.Kühn and much more… He goes on tour in Germany, Italy, Japan, India and Africa. In 1986 he became a member of the French National Jazz Orchestra.

Today, Marc Ducret is recording new compositions of his own creation and gives concerts on international stages, in solo or with his bands. He also teaches music in Denmark where he is honorary teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. This could have been enough but he loves music so much that he regularly gives master classes in France, Belgium, Germany, Finland and Italy.

So why is he so popular?

We can qualify his way of playing guitar as simultaneously passionate and gently impressionistic. He also composes music based on the writings of authors like Vladimir Nabokov (2008-2015) or Kafka, Stevenson,Michaux and Sprenger (2014).

On Thursday 12th of October, he will be playing in solo for the public of Autumn Jazz.
