Juhan Kuus Docphoto Centre at Telliskivi Creative City will host the exhibition “Street Instinct” (“<\/span>Instinct de Rue”)<\/span><\/i>\u00a0from March, 2 to April, 1. “Street Instinct” is made up of a series of black and white photographies about everyday life; moments seized by chance, an encounter with a stranger at the corner of an alley\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

When he talks about his photos, Mika Aim evokes an “unveiling of the realistic poetry contained in repeated journeys through the city, from work to home, from home to work,” these regular, banal paths one does not often pay attention to. Situations immortalised by him and his camera include the everyday urban life of cities such as Paris or Nice.<\/span><\/p>\n

By photographing the same paths, the same metro stations and the same streets, at the same time of day, he tries to bring out poetry, singularity and beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the artist<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mika Aim was born and grew up in Paris, where he also went to university. Passionate about music, he also studies Jazz, which is reflected in a certain way in his photographs.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

A professional web designer, he pursued his career in communication and the web, while remaining close to the professions of visual creation and applied arts.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was only in 2015, encouraged by his family and friends who had noticed his talent, that his career as a professional photographer really began. His Facebook page and his website were rapidly spotted by gallerists and art photography lovers, especially for his Street Photography works, which is the genre of photography that Mika Aim affiliates with. Thanks to the internet, his photographs almost instantly found an audience.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016, Mika Aim was put forward at the Visual Arts Exhibition in Paris, and he has been pursuing artistic collaborations and developing projects around Street Photography since then.<\/span><\/p>\n
