Therefore, a new Ambassador for Digital Affairs has been appointed: David Martinon will represent France in international negotiations and apply the newly-released French strategy for digital, which can be summed up by <strong>3 pillars<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<h3>Advocating the values of openness, diversity and trust in the digital sphere<\/h3>\n<p>This pillar implies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>advocating a <strong>broad governance<\/strong> that is faithful to the diversity of actors in the digital sphere (states, private sector, civil societies)<\/li>\n<li>supporting an affordable and safe access to Internet as a lever for <strong>development<\/strong> policies<\/li>\n<li>promoting diversity and <strong>multilingualism<\/strong>, including a francophone Internet<\/li>\n<li>spreading digital <strong>commons<\/strong> (software, content, open data)<\/li>\n<li>evaluating the impact of <strong>algorithms <\/strong>and encouraging their transparency and fairness<\/li>\n<li>fighting the creation and spreading of misinformation (&#8220;<strong>fake news<\/strong>&#8220;)<\/li>\n<li>ensuring the full effect of <strong>international law<\/strong> in the cyberspace<\/li>\n<li>leading a global fight against the use of the Web for purposes of<strong> terrorism<br \/>\n <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>educating citizens into <strong>encryption<\/strong> of communications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Supporting the emergence of a European digital model<\/h3>\n<p>The ambition is to make Europe a reference for regulations in the digital sphere.
