Within the framework of the Tallinn Print Triennial<\/strong>, French graphic artist\u00a0Valentin Alizer<\/a><\/strong>, born in 1992, will show a new interactive video installation in\u00a0the youth exhibition “Spheres” at Kultuurikatel, from May 31st to July 22nd.<\/div>\n

Entitled\u00a0A\u00a0Saturday Night<\/em>, il s’agit d’une s\u00e9rie de cartes \u00e0 jouer, contant graphiquement les \u00e9v\u00e9nements fictifs d’une soir\u00e9e arros\u00e9e organis\u00e9e par un jeune homme dont les parents ont quitt\u00e9\u00a0le manoir familial le temps d\u2019un week-end. Librement inspir\u00e9 de l’ambiance des teen movies<\/em> et sex comedy<\/em> am\u00e9ricains, dont elle reprend les codes, cette histoire s’entame par l’arriv\u00e9e de trois amis \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e du manoir et se poursuit par la rencontre de nos protagonistes avec des personnages plus ou moins st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9s. Selon les choix op\u00e9r\u00e9s par ces personnages, les \u00e9v\u00e9nements s\u2019alt\u00e8rent, offrant alors diverses issues \u00e0 nos trois h\u00e9ros.<\/div>\n

Les cartes seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es sur une table, face au plan d\u2019un immense manoir (lui aussi fictif) \u00e9trangement construit comme un couloir.<\/div>\n

Governed by the notion of tradition, this\u00a017th edition<\/strong> addresses both the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and the 50 years of the\u00a0Tallinn Print Triennial<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0“Puzzling Over the Labyrinth. 50 Years of the Tallinn Print Triennial” at KUMU Art Museum from 20\/04 to 26\/08.\u2192 More information<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

To celebrate its 50th anniversary,\u00a0the Tallinn Print Triennial will open in KUMU with an\u00a0exhibition dedicated to the history of the oldest Estonian triennial. Created in July 1968,\u00a0it became known throughout the USSR despite the ideological, economic and art policy context of the Soviet Union. After Estonia regained its independence, the Triennial became a modern and internationally open exhibition.<\/p>\n

This exhibition,\u00a0accompanied by a richly illustrated book in Estonian and English, will explore the five-decade-long history of the Tallinn Print Triennial by analysing its role in the art processes and cultural history of Estonia and the Baltic states.<\/p>\n

This main exhibition of the 17th Tallinn Print Triennial, curated by Margit S\u00e4de, examines\u00a0the invisible connections and interactions between the human psyche and technology, drawing on the metaphor of both natural and data processing clouds. Considering the dearth of ambivalence in contemporary society, the exhibition focuses on various personal universes, which provide different alternatives for “a transformative digital society”, that is life in the “cloud”.<\/p>\n

This exhibition will feature works by 22 participating artists by combining fanatical ideas and somnambulist visions with meticulously planned tactics, while both approaches are joined by a search for a more caring and humane society.<\/p>\n
