Twice a month, on Wednesdays at 6 p.m., we organise a screening of selected French films. At the French Institute in the centre of Tallinn, you can enjoy great French directors\u2019 films with English subtitles. Come and\u00a0discover the French film\u00a0culture with your friends, we will provide snacks.<\/p>\n

This year, our retrospective on great French filmmakers\u00a0 will start\u00a0 with Luc Besson<\/span>. Surely one of the most famous French directors in the world, in particular with\u00a0\u201cLucy\u201d (2014) which was the most successful French movie abroad. To discover or rediscover this exceptional filmmaker, we offer a selection of 6 of\u00a0his most cult films.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday 23 March, 6pm<\/strong>,\u00a0we will present you “TAXI”,<\/strong> an action-comedy film written by Luc Besson, and directed by G\u00e9rard Pir\u00e8s.<\/p>\n

In terms of box office admissions, the Taxi<\/em> series is one of the most successful French franchises ever!<\/p>\n

Synopsis: Daniel (Samy Naceri<\/span>) is the fastest delivery man for the local pizza parlor Pizza Joe<\/em> in Marseille, France. \u00c9milien (Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Diefenthal<\/span>) is a clumsy young detective and has just failed his 8th driver’s test. At work, no-one takes him seriously. One day, \u00c9milien takes a taxi to work, and gets in Daniel’s car. Not knowing his fare’s occupation, Daniel reveals his racing modifications and breaks traffic laws several times. \u00c9milien eventually apprehends Daniel. At the station, \u00c9milien asks Daniel for help with a German gang in exchange for keeping his license.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
