His work examines how our most human qualities – creativity, interaction, and our sense of collective experience – are transformed in the digital age. Through participatory and immersive experiences, he invites audiences to reflect on the connections that bring us together in a world shaped by technology.

His flagship project, Let’s Draw, presented at more than 80 events across a dozen countries, transforms public spaces into giant collaborative drawing canvases through interactive projection mapping. Participants are invited to draw simultaneously using their smartphones, creating a monumental, ephemeral, and immersive collective artwork.

His latest creation, The Invisible Party, combines dance and mixed reality to explore the relationships between the body, space, and the visible and invisible worlds.

Alongside his artistic practice, Maxime Touroute develops creative tools that he shares with artists and cultural institutions. These include Revy, an all-in-one augmented reality creation platform; Audio Broadcaster, a real-time audio streaming tool; and Live-maker, a platform enabling large-scale audience interaction via smartphones.

Continue the experience at Kultuuriöö with Let’s Draw

This masterclass also offers a unique opportunity to discover Maxime Touroute’s artistic universe before experiencing Let’s Draw, presented on 28 August from 7:00 p.m. on the walls of Patarei Prison as part of Kultuuriöö, Tallinn’s Night of Culture.

Presented on Patarei’s exterior wall, the installation invites the public to draw live using their smartphones.
