On stage, 2\u00a0screens, placed\u00a0so as to\u00a0create a sense\u00a0of depth, to the point where\u00a0you\u00a0cannot tell where pictures are projected anymore.<\/p>\n

3 cheeckie musicians, a\u00a0barker and a videographer invite the public to dive into Georges M\u00e9li\u00e8s’ enchanting world.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This famous french filmmaker\u00a0from the 1920’s became a\u00a0prolific innovator in the use of\u00a0special effects. 12 of his short-films are screened during the show and\u00a0help create an abounding\u00a0“trompe l’oeuil”\u00a0decorum, involving surreal journeys.<\/p>\n

The filmmaker’s\u00a0joyous and ingenious spirit matches the music perfectly, bouncing from jazz to free music. The musicians\u00a0deliberately mingle with this naive fairyland. Needless to say Georges M\u00e9li\u00e8s would have enjoyed this fair-style of a film-concert.<\/p>\n
