And what does it mean anyway ?<\/p>\n<p>Keep on reading. We will&nbsp;summarise for you the different class levels offered by the French Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The French Institute uses<strong> the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).<br \/>\n6 levels :<\/strong> <br \/>\nA1-beginners <br \/>\nA2-Elementary <br \/>\nB1-Intermediate <br \/>\nB2-Independent user <br \/>\nC1-Advanced <br \/>\nC2-Proficiency &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(aka The Holy Graal!)<\/p>\n<p>It describes what a learner is supposed to be able to do in reading, listening, speaking and writing.<br \/>\nThe good thing is that it is widely recognised and applies to all languages in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008ac9;\">BEGINNERS LEVELS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;A1-Beginners<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.<\/li>\n<li>Can introduce him\/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he\/she lives, people he\/she knows and things he\/she has.<\/li>\n<li>Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A2-Elementary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).<\/li>\n<li>Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.<\/li>\n<li>Can describe in simple terms aspects of his\/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008ac9;\"><strong>INDEPENDENT USER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>B1-Intermediate<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.<\/li>\n<li>Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.<\/li>\n<li>Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>B2-Upper intermediate<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his\/her field of specialization.<\/li>\n<li>Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.<\/li>\n<li>Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008ac9;\">PROFICIENT USER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>C1-Advanced<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses, and recognize implicit meaning.<\/li>\n<li>Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.<\/li>\n<li>Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>C2-Proficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.<\/li>\n<li>Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Can express him\/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We can help you determine your level and find the right course to best meet your needs.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Simply contact us: cours(at)ife.ee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/estonie.extranet-aec.com\/classes\/view\/1-tasemekursused\/3-taiskasvanud\/0-all-levels\/1-prantsuse_keel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you B1 or C2 ?
