Celebrate the Month of Francophonie in the Estonian rhythm

 We have crafted an exciting schedule, which is in the process of finalization:

March 1-4, 2018

  • Exhibition : Friday, March 2 at 17:00   opening of the exhibition Street Instinct by the photographer Mika Aim at the Documentary Photo Centre in Telliskivi.
  • Jazz: Sunday, March 4, at 19:00 –  “Les Voyageurs de l’Espace” – Galactic Jazz at the KUMU Art Museum in Tallinn.

March 5-11, 2018

  • Jazz : Monday, March 5 at 19:00 –  “Les Voyageurs de l’Espace” – Galactic Jazz at the Türi Cultural Centre.
  • Film: Tuesday, March 6 at 17:30 –  My Life as a Zucchini“ (Swiss film in French with Estonian and Russian subtitles) at Sõprus cinema. Free screening!
  • Jazz: Tuesday, March 6 at 19:00“Les Voyageurs de l’Espace “ – Galactic Jazz at Viljandi Jazz Club.
  • Literature: Wednesday, March 7 at 18:00 – Presentation (in Estonian) of the French literature translated in 2017 with translators Triinu Tamm and Indrek Koff, Leelo Märjamaa, Editor of Draakon & Kuu, and our francophonic partners at the PUÄNT Bookstore.
  • Jazz: Wednesday, March 7 at 19:00 “Les Voyageurs de l’Espace “ – Galactic Jazz at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu with Oleg Pissarenko.
  • Film: Wednesday, March 7 at 18:00 – Free screening of the French documentary “Quelque chose de grand” (“Something Big”) at the KUMU Art Museum in Tallinn.
  • French Language: Saturday, March 10 from 12:00 to 16:00 – The French Language Family Day at Õpetajate Maja in Tallinn (Town hall square).
  • Jazz: Sunday, March 11 at 18:00 – “Les Voyageurs de l’Espace” – at Kuressaare Cultural Centre.

March 12-18, 2018

  • Film: Tuesday, March 13 at 18:30 – Special free screening of the French film “Promise at Dawn(with English subtitles) with director Eric Barbier at Sõprus cinema.
  • Film: Wednesday, March 14 at 18:00 – Free screening of the French documentary “Rock’n’roll… Of Corse!” at the KUMU Art Museum in Tallinn.
  • Meeting: Thursday, March 15 from 18:30 to 20:00 French AfterWork at the French Institute, in partnership with the Economic Department of the French Embassy.
  • Youth Literature: from Thursday, March 15 to Saturday, March 17 – The illustrator Vanessa Hié visits schools and youth literature meetings, in association with The Little Francophones.

March 19-25, 2018

  • World Film:  from Monday, March 19 to Sunday, March 25 in Tartu –  The World Film Festival 2018 at the National Museum, screenings of various francophone documentaries.
  • Film: Tuesday, March 20 at 17:30 – Free screening of the Swiss-Romainian film “The miracle of Tekir” by Ruxandra Zenide (with French and English subtitles) at Sõprus cinema.
  • Meeting: Wednesday, March 21 at 18:00 : Special Language Café in the honor of the Month of the Francophonie at the French Institute (Kuninga 4).

March 26-28, 2018

  • Day of the Francophonie at the TESMonday, March 26 at 08:00 –  Speech by the Ambassador, the Director of the French Institute and the Cooperation Attaché for French.
  • Film: Tuesday, March 27 at 17:30 – Free screening of the Canadian film Guibord s’en va en guerre” (in French with English subtitles) at Sõprus cinema.

From film screenings to music, exhibitions and workshops, the Month of the Francophonie will culminate with a now traditional French Language Family Day. Scheduled on Saturday, March 10, the event will take place from 12.00 to 16.00 on the first floor of Õpetajate Maja in Tallinn.
