French violinist and composer Régis Huby is one of the busiest jazz musicians in France. Currently, he’s on the road with a project inspired by Claude Lévi-Strauss’s book “Race and History”, which is a celebration of diversity in cultures.
Together with three veterans of the European jazz scene, known for stretching musical conventions to the limit and beyond, they formed the jazz band Equal Crossing. Each musician is free to take the music in his own direction, whether this be the terrain of atmospheric prog rock, passing by pyrotechnic fusion à la Mahavishnu Orchestra or intricate chamber jazz. Every time the result is innovative and elegant.
