The only French-speaking school curriculum in Estonia
Since the schoolyear 2018/2019, Tallinn European School offers a French-speaking section in addition to the English-speaking section. For the first time in Estonia, it is possible to follow a school curriculum in French, in Nursery and Primary levels, before the opening of Secondary-level classes in the following years.

At Nursery level, the everyday language is French, but the children also meet and share activities with the children of the English language groups.
At Primary level, the teaching is multilingual with most of the subjects taught in French (French L1, Mathematics, Discovery of the World, Ethics and Arts) and some subjects taught in English (Music, Physical Education). Every child is going to learn a second language (English or German) starting from the first grade as well.

From the third grade, the children have lessons of European Hours taught in their L2 and a weekly lesson of Estonian language. For the schoolyear 2019/2020, the French section will welcome children aged 4 to 11 in Nursery and Primary school.

French native speaking teachers are teaching these classes. They are perfectly bilingual, and all have a long-term experience in teaching in international schools around the world.
