Underwater robotics day in Haapsalu on November 21

On November 21, jump into the water with a robot in Haapsalu pool!

The U-Cat, a turtle-shaped robot, is well known in Estonia. But did you know that it is now part of a French-Estonian project between the Centre of Biorobotics of Tallinn University of Technology and the LIRMM, a research laboratory of the Université de Montpellier? .

On November 21, three members of the French-Estonian research team offered you a demonstration of the robot in Haapsalu swiming pool. They told you about undewater robotics and its uses, especially for underwater archaeology.

In the afternoon, you had the opportunity to attend lectures and discussions about underwater archaeology in Haapsalu Museum where the exhibition “open underwater archives” was exhibited until November 22.

Programme:

Two demonstrations of the underwater robot in the swimming pool (it is possible to go and swim into the water with the robot):

  • 10:00-11:00: only for adults, access to the swimming pool from 09:45
  • 11:00-12:00: for family with children, access to the swimming pool from 10:45
  • 13:45: lecture and discussion with specialists in robotics and archaeology in Haapsalu Museum
