For the next Ciné-club session, the first of 2026, the Institute will screen Virginie Verrier’s biopic, Marinette (2022). This movie about Marinette Pichon, regarded as the first major superstar of French women’s soccer, is based on the player’s autobiography, Never give up. A opportunity to discuss the rise of women’s sports together.
Synopsis :
From a very young age, Marinette has always been passionate about soccer. In spite of a troubled family situation, she will rise through the ranks, from a small local club to a professional and international team.
The screening will take place on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30 PM, at the Institut Français d’Estonie, Kuninga 4, 10146 Tallinn.
The showing will be followed by a discussion in French with the audience.
