On February 3, The Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, made public the selected contestants,as part of the architecture competition “Reinventing Paris”. Among them is Lina Ghotmeh and her team DGT Architects for the project “Feeding Massena”. This partnership was founded in Paris in 2006 and gained an international reputation through its design of the Estonian National Museum, that will be inaugurated in September 29. 2016
The project in brief : all about food, from pitchfork to fork
“Feeding Massena” is a journey across food issues. This research center will bring to the public the most innovative experimentations as regards food and food supplies. “Feeding Massena” as a participative economy-based project is a unique place for sharing ideas and experiences. Inside a fertile and poetic environment, the public will daily explore the food production-consumption cycle. The projects fosters a practical experience of urban ecology through various aspects:
- urban agriculture (sowing, researching, innovating)
- educational workshops (harvesting, sharing, recycling)
- interactive restaurant (cooking, informing, preserving, transforming)
- market and hive (exchanging, developing)
- Street art gallery (involving, displaying, questioning)
- the black box (debating, transmitting, entertaining)
- residencies for chefs, artists, scholars, inhabitants, to discover, experience and nurture
Inside this abounding and generous environment, « Feeding Massena » promotes a new kind of lifestyle, both humane and sustainable.
