The Representation of the European Commission in Estonia, the French Institute in Estonia, and the Estonian Institute of Human Rights have the great pleasure to invite you to the 6th edition of the Debate Series “Dividing Lines and Perspectives in Europe”.
29 March 2016, Yvon Gastaut, a Contemporary History specialist, will discuss “Immigration in France and Estonia in the 20th century- two countries, two stories”, with the historian Mart Nutt.
Mariliis Mets, Foreign affairs specialist to the Ministry of Defense, will moderate the debate.
Yvan Gastaut teaches History at the Sophia Antipolis University of Nice. He is a specialist in History of Immigration, integration and racism in France. He has also done numerous research about the History of sport, and football in particular, through its ethnical and identity-related aspects. Besides, M. Gastaut is an active member of various committees in charge of immigration issues and regularly takes part in public debates about these subjects.

Mart Nutt is a specialist in the History of Public Relations. He is the holder of a Phd in Public Relations and is a renowned specialist in Estonia about these subjects. He has been a Member of the Parliament since 1992 and is a member of the Constitution Committee. He was also a long-time member of the European Affairs Committee and a Special Advisor to the Integration and Migration Foundation in Estonia. He has published numerous papers about news subjects and actively takes part in public debates.
