The European Day of Early Music is held every year on 21st March, a day celebrating the beginning of spring, and one of Early Music’s most important composers Johann Sebastian Bach (born on 21st March 1685).
This event is placed under the support and patronage of the French Ministry for Culture and Communication, the UNESCO and the European Union.
The project was initiatied by REMA (European Early Music Network) in 2013. The European Day of Early Music is a celebration of more than a millennium of music, a major part of the European cultural heritage. Concerts, events, and happenings will be taking place simultaneously across Europe.
In Tallinn, the Ensemble Floridante will give a concert, 21 March 2016, 5pm, at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Chamber Hall. They will play Jean-Philippe Rameau and François Couperin, two renowned French Baroque composers. Save the date !
