Exhibition: « 20 french design icons »

The exhibition « 20 French design icons » aims at mapping the history of French design. Covering almost 15 years, through the selection of the most striking products which impacted an entire generation and based on the apparition on the international scene, first of “Starck’s children” and then of the French touch.

“20 French design icons” presents strong symbols of French creation and its capacity to break established codes, to reinterpret them, to keep up with or to anticipate one’s time, with the same desire to serve, seduce and surprise the public.

Unconcerned about the subject, whether it is a revolutionary can of beer made of aluminium, the first industrialised chair in transparent plastic, the first chair in stereolithography or an industrialised chair created in a flash of genius in the 50’s, French design distinguishes itself by its capacity to innovate and to take hold of the highest technologies of each time, which is characteristic of a country where engineering holds a predominant place.

Opening on October 23rd at 5:00pm at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design
